Hirut, I’m not sure if your just a naive Ethiopian or a dumb TPLF cadre. Whatever the case may be, TPLF has committed genocide when it massacred over 400 locals in Gambella with a direct order of Meles himself targeting a specific group of people simply because they rejected the government’s development plans in their ancestral land. I don’t want to list all the genocidal crimes this regime has committed on Ogaden, Oromo and Amhara regions. Also, you must understand according to Meles’s own constitution, the Ogaden people have a guaranteed right to secede if they so choose whether their decision is inspired by Islamic or any other reason. It’s simply unfair and stupid to grant secession to Eritrea and deny others to do the same. I’m all for unity and hope the Ethiopian people everywhere will soon figure out a remedy for the poison Meles and his regime has planted among the people based on ethnic, religious, political and other trivial identity norms. We should not hope or seat and wait for TPLF to change its ways to become democratic. It’s better to start fighting instead.

yes there is genocide in Ethiopia since TPLF coming to power even changing its name EPDRF. What about the Oromo people, Anuagnuak people, Amhara people, Ogaden people, Afar People, Sidama people, oh a lot of people massacers in facist Meles regime? America! especially the Obama adiministration should stop supporting dectators TPLF( the socialist party which is working with stupid china) if not it costs you more than that expected. Ethiopian will be free free free soon. Meles and his supporters are cruel and racist, their time is expired.
I appreciate Dr.Gregory Stanton Genocide Watch President effort to tell the truth for the rest of the world. Dr.Gregory, We Ethiopian are stands on your side. This is the right time to bring justice in Ethiopia and TPLF has to go. Dr. Gregory, you are the man of the year 2012.

we know how to play. They are arming TPLF on one side, on the other side they are telling the people to pursue nonviolent struggle. Funny!!!. A government that doesn’t respect its Constitution and law can’t be stable. To stay in power, they do dirty things against Somali people to get money from west. Long live ONLF. Enemy is enemy. Time is against oppressors.

listen people, there is no genocide in Ethiopia but you seem to advocate for one. Yes, there has been government crack down on the people mentioned and it is not right but it is not genocide. Professor or not, the reality is some one has got to do something it is a huge country with huge problems.
Yes, TPLF is dominating power and that is not good either but in my view in the long run and slowly it would change as we develop collectively as that makes the stakes high for an all out war.
As for Ogaden, Meles did not let it susceed like Eritrea because those who are pushing for it in Ogaden are islamic fundamentalist who would not rest to destroy Ethiopia. We have a long way to go but let us not expect American democracy overnight. No matter who comes it won’t happen. This is Africa we are talking about. Be careful what you are wishing for Abebe Gelaw. The role of Ethiopian diaspora? pls. look around sir.
