In Paraguay 17 people have been killed in a shootout between police and farmers.

The fight over land rights happened in Canindeuyu district. It's a remote area about 200km from the capital.

As Al Jazeera's Nicole Johnston reports, the violence broke out when police tried to evict people from a farm.
