You are cordially invited to attend a ‘Round Table’ discussion
Sunday, January 22nd, 2012You are cordially invited to attend a ‘Round Table’ discussion on: The second Scramble for African Land, Water and Resources.
Africa is one of the hungriest continents in the world; depending on billions of dollars in foreign aid to feed its people while at the same time, some of its most autocratic governments are now leasing some of their prime agricultural land for up to 99 years for as little as $1.20 per hectare to foreign investors, who will export most of the produce.
“In 2010 up to 123.5 million acres of African land — double the size of Britain — have been snapped up or is being negotiated by governments or wealthy investors, various assessments conclude. These land grabs are new form of neo-colonialism that leaves large parts of Africa in the hands of foreign states and investors while displaced local populations are left to suffer and go hungry. As African leaders sign away their people’s land to foreigners, the continent’s people, among the poorest on the planet, face joining the estimated 1 billion people in the world who don’t have enough food”.
Guest speaker:
Mr. Obang Metho, Executive Director of the SMNE – Solidarity Movement for a New Ethiopia a social justice movement of diverse Ethiopians that joint-sponsor with the think tank, Oakland Institute, of the Ethiopian portion of the comprehensive investigative report, Understanding Land Investment Deals in Africa, published in June 2011.

Thank our brave brother Ato Obang Metho.
Yes ethiopia is in the hand of mindless and shameless gangisters. These mindless gangisters have invited foreign mindless and shameless lootters and they are sharing our fertile land among them selves and leasing for 99 years.
But we know for sure those mindless foreign invaders and the inner lootters will be rided of from the face of ethiopia soon. All agreements will be cannceled and all foreign invaders will pay a price their multiple crimes which they have committed against our country and people.
Dear brother Obang,
As per our long and interesting conversation of yesterday over the phone, about Ethiopia, Ethiopians and our divided opposition parties’ politics and all the failed past and workable strategies in future to bring down those nasty dictators, I want to go public to congradulate you in becoming one of those so-called terrorists and or appeasers of terrorists labelled by the Ethiopian regime.
As I said to you too yesterday, I would be carrying my home-made gun if and when I meet you in future to protect myself from you and your terrorist colleagues around the opposition camps. How clever that EPRDF was too, to accuse you as a terrorist of democracy and human rights? I fear that hereafter the Pope would not save himself from being labelled as Qob Yedefana Nech Yelebese Terorist. And who would be next brother?
Good God, the regime have gone absolutely crazy. Egzioooooooooo!
Mr.Obang Metho go on we are on yourside to support/contribute for the freedom of our country.
Thanks
Mr.Obang Metho is a talented “Beautiful of Africa” emerged Human Right Activist who struggles for the well being of man kind. We hopefully will see his effort to free Ethiopian hence African people set free in near future from the suppression of tyrants and dictators. God Bless Obang Metho
