Shame on BBC News Africa

March 2, 2013

Dear BBC Africa,

The BBC Africa News of March 1 broke the news of the new appointment of Patriarch Mathias as a Sixth leader of the

His Holiness Abune Merkorios the exiled leader of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo

His Holiness Abune Merkorios exiled leader of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo

Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. For we the believers in exile the legal patriarch is Bishop Merkorios the 4th Patriarch who was removed by the TPLF/Woyane when it captured power from Mengistu Hailemariam in 1991.

As a Catholic church is entering a new chapter, for a living Pope, Benedict 16, resigned for a new Pope to be selected, in Ethiopia the living Bishop was forced out and the fifth one was appointed by the regime in power more than two decades ago. Shamefully, BBC joined in disrespecting our church by ignoring the legal 4th Bishop Merkorios and braking the news of the Sixth Bishop.

BBC by ignoring the living Fourth Bishop Merkorios the exiled leader of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo lost its credibility in the eyes of the believers. We need appropriate explanation for such reporting. When does BBC become part of picking the leader of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewhaedo church ?

For the record, Ethiopia has one legal and another illegal Patriarch. The illegal Patriarch Mathias will not be welcome in the Diaspora Ethiopian Community!

Thanks,

Tedla Asfaw

Let’s be smart and focus on tangible deeds. BBC never declared the passing of meles – BBC declared Pope appointee. It contradicts in both ways but does it make any difference? Look and fight for the Big picture – I want EMF remove nonsense article.

Wanaw Ye Ethiopia Afrash engilozotchuh aydelum wey??? Is it not Blair who called Meles the best African leader in term of good governance whilst ethiopians are more poor, have less freedom, more in prisons, no opposition leader in the real sense of it, etc etc…was it not Meles that the west chose to represent Africa at the Copenhagen summit because all he did was aproving sarkozy and blair’s program, humiliating africans ‘s interest, was it not meles who invaded somalia for them?? do you really believe the oneness of Ethiopia will be defended by BBC? we all know the truth, only ethiopians can stand for Ethiopia that’s why the struggle must continue to destroy these woyane parasites – anberkeken keza Ethiopian maskeber…we have no other alternatives but to count on God who gives wisdom so we can struggle for our freedom and the defense of our identity! EOTC and Muslims in Ethiopia should get closer than ever and destroy woyane.

For me the solution to the question of “what matters ?” Comes by asking an other question to BBC itself. Accordingly, at least to have a reputation as a free and ethical media indeed I believe a healthy person should ask “Had BBC had no informations about Ethiopian Orthodox Church for having at least two Patriarchs at the same time ?”. If it has the information, why didn’t it tried to report that ?. I mean: even if it didn’t want to deliberate on the issue of “who is the right patriarich ??? “

BBC is a news organization, it is not a Human Rights Organization or Ombudsman. Does it make any difference if BBC said otherwise. Focus on the inside movement, focus on liberating Ethiopia, act on the awareness of Ethiopians to topple woyane. This Lunatic, Tedla Asfaw, needs to focus on what he is doing, he is rampant and jumping everywhere. it is shame for this outlet to publish his nonsesnse.
