Ethiopia: Arrest Zenawi before he dies or flees

Westerners: time to disown the despot!

If the bloody tyrant is allowed to die in the comfort of his home instead of a tiny, cold prison cell, millions of his angryArrest Zenawi before he dies or flees victims in Ethiopia and Somalia would be left with no closure.

Taunted by Gaddafi-like death for months and terrorized by a Mussolini style hanging along with his wife, Azeb, reports are that, the lunatic tyrant is about to flee to the US, just to die there peacefully.

If he succeeds, a Rwanda like genocide would be unavoidable for Ethiopia.

This is the man, once mighty and looked immortal; ordered the killing of thousands of his real or imagined opponents without thinking about it, banished others in to exile.

Now, in complete contrast, he is lying helpless and lone, in captivity under his mammon-worshiping wife, bawling in agonizing pain as the debilitating cancer ebbed away his life.

After years of blood lust, sheer arrogance, debauchery and substance abuse,…death has come knocking.

The tyrant who blurred peace and tolerance to insignificance, a fascist who ignored all kinds of unprecedented offers to hand power to a legitimate Ethiopian, the complacent despot who perpetrated apartheid style social and economic crimes, master of nefarious deeds, is now risking falling in to the hands of the very same patriots he persecuted with utmost severity.

PM Meles Zenawi, the man who bewitched a generation of young Tigres with laconic speeches, calling up on them to show no mercy to rebellious Ethiopians, is now cowardly dying, leaving them to the mercy of the patriots.

Hypothetically speaking, currently, his fervent wish is to die soon rather than pulled by the bridle to the gallows.

In addition, if he dies, his entire war cabinet of Tigre warlords will flee north to see if it is possible for them to declare a Tigraye republic, a new nation for war criminals, traitors and other sub-humans such as GEN Samora, Zeraye Yehedego, Tedros Adhanom, and the shrewd Judas, Gebru Asrat.

In post Zenawi Ethiopia there is a possibility that secession might be forced up on Tigraye as a punishment for the 21 years Roman Empire style brutal colonization of Ethiopia. First, she must cede the massive stolen farmland back to Ethiopia and pay back every penny her subjects plunder from Ethiopia proper.

Moreover, enevitably, a massive amount of reparation will be placed on Tigray’s head for the Warships Zenawi gave Eritrea and for the financial loss incurred due to the loss of port Assab.

Nevertheless, the precondition for peaceful settlement is Zenawis’ immediate arrest and the surrender of the nearly 1million Tigre militia that kept Zenawi in power for more than two decades.

Setting up a Nuremberg type court is also a necessity to prosecute war criminals.

Cool heads must prevail and work towards peaceful transition, from ruthless tyranny to democracy should commence now while Zenawis’ heart is still beating.

As once suggested by Tinsae Ethiopia, it is time to form a transitional government strong enough, bold enough, and democratic enough to save the battered nation from further bloodshed.

Moreover, the transition requires the active involvement of the international community. For western powers, disowning the once useful, now useless tyrant is not negotiable.

Otherwise, the consequence of Zenawis’ sudden death or escape coupled with the violent implosion of the TPLF will be devastating beyond imagination.

First off, never ever mix the people of Tigrai with TPLF. Doing so makes you in the same style as TPLFites. Second, when the time comes, how TPLF regime members are handled will be key to how Ethiopia will proceed next. Don’t forget Derg destroyed its credibility when they killed the elder monarchy officials.

The article by Getahun Bekele is well articulated and a solid fact. The writer wrote what we Ethiopians exactly feel and want to do. I would like to thank him for writing the truth. A woyane style talk like “I am not Tigre but …” always appears when they are exposed and frightened. They pretend to be human and innocent. For example take the response of “Ewunetwa” above, a criminal TPLF thug. His soft words and advice like sugesstions are camouflaged for his further crime and treason. But the fact is Ewunetwa and the likes have been collaborating and committing shocking torture and genocide in Ethiopia. that is why he does not care about the suffering of Ethiopians. TPLF Looted everything we have accumulated for centures, persecuted our innocent people, vandalised our heritage and history, harassed our people, damaged the unity of our country and sold out the vast costalline.
    Thank you Getahun!

Wow, your article frighten the hell out of me! I am not Tigray so according to your article should the regime go, I should be fine and I have nothing to worry about. But, I feel sad by what you are predicting and advocating. Below is why.

Whilst predicting freedom and justice on one hand, you are scaremongering about Rwanda style genocide at the same time, should the regime fall. So,what is the purpose of this article really ?

You talk of Tigray as if it is another country. Is that fair? however agrrieved we feel by the tigrian regime. Tigray is the heart of Ethiopia. Two wrongs never make right. Such is the tone of your hatered, If I were a Tigreian today indeed I will hold on to Weyane very tightly smiply because of this sort of attitude.

It is going to be a difficult road ahead but with articles and warmongering like this, who needs enemy? why are we so irrsponsible about what we are drumming about?

If we truly wants peace in Ethiopia, what we need to talk about is having a government that is representative of all, democratic, one that upholds human right and many more. I am not sure anyone who harbour racist attitude towards a racist regime is the way forward.

We need to learn from people like Mandela and Aung San Suu Chi. They did not call for the head of their oppressors but for reconciliation and understanding, democratic reform and call for fredom for all.

You probably won’t post it because it is not the usual tagging along. Pls do. We need to talk and debate. There are different shades of everthing. Everything cannot be just black and white.

Yes,one of our primary goals must be to capture Zinawi before he exits through the doors he left unlocked. It doesn’t matter in what form or shape zinawi will be captured;dead or alive,Zinawi will stand trial, his deadbody will receive life.If captured alive,he shall first kneel down and lick the dust off the ground, then he will cry a bit to remember those treaters who brought him to this world.

Wow… Thanks for narrating beautifully what all patriotic Ethiopians hope for. You have certainly captured the upcoming reality of Ethiopia & Ethiopians. The rule of Meles and Tigre thugs is coming but not soon enough. We shall bring to justice all Tigre thugs who humiliated, tortured, raped, imprisoned, killed Ethiopians and looted Ethiopia to the bone for the last 21 years.

The 21 years of humiliation by Tigre thugs at schools, work places, offices, bars, restaurants, airport, consulates, municipal offices, sport arenas can not come soon enough.

On behalf of 21 years of the Tigre rule victims and survivors, Freedom… Freedom and last but not least JUSTICE.
