“Pride goes before destruction. And a haughty spirit before a fall”
Proverbs 16:18
Where is that pride and haughty spirit that we usually see in Meles Zenawi’s eyes? Can you see that fear and terror in his
eyes on the latest picture? Thanks to almighty God who once again put his words into action using Zenawi as a classical demonstration of his eternal word. God told Zenawi that He is patient but not absent. I hope the rest of the TPLF gang is listening.
There is a rumor circulating around about the death of Ethiopian dictator Meles Zenawi. No one is able to independently verify this rumor yet. We will wait until we get confirmation from our ESAT and other reliable network media.
In the meantime, things are changing quickly in Ethiopia. There is no doubt that the Weyane ruling junta is confused and in panic. Furthermore, it is certain that a red hot power struggle may be in full swing already within the TPLF big wigs sitting on the top. Some of whom may be Bereket, Samora, Berhane, Sibhat, Abbay, Arkebe, and even Azeb and others. Nobody knows what the outcome will be.
My suspicion is the weyane ruling junta is not an ordinary and stupid bunch to allow itself in an internal fight that will make it more vulnerable to an immediate fall. They know how unpopular they are to afford this form of infighting. My take is that they may temporarily stick to each other like glue despite their personal ambitions to grab power. They have done this before and there is no reason why they don’t do it now. They will again do anything to survive this chaos and if possible resist any uprising from the Ethiopian people. It is true that they are in panic and considerably weakened. But they still have a chance to survive together until they can afford to start to wage the power struggle within.
So again, the decisive factor to overpower TPLF now must come from the outside which includes the democratic opposition both in the country and abroad including students, Muslims, Christians, workers, soldiers and others. The first step is a United Front of all opposition forces now as David Steinman articulated brilliantly in his article today. Such a united front should be formed within weeks as soon as possible. Most probably the opposition forces do not have the luxury and the time to debate and negotiate for a long time. Events have already surpassed them. The only choice they have is to catch it and figure out things as they go before this another life time opportunity expires.
The slogan of the day is: A Single National United Front now!

Indications are the PM is already dead and, Unprepared for it,his party is dumbfounded about it. There was no time for splinters or fctions to coallace. It seems the EPRDF might be able to come out of the crisis in the short run. However, The loss of Meles is heavy-thing that can not be easily shrugged aside and bring forth a new leader. The crisis will continue after the face saving measures the current leaders will take. EPRDF’s spiral and jolting movements will eventualy brings its demise unless this front smart it out to call and join other Ethiopian forces to continue forming the a new govt. The role of other governments in this affair is another thing Ethiopians should worry about.

Dear Ethiopians within and in the Diaspora!
first of all i would like to thank God the Almighty who generously offered me to express my wishes and views regarding the current situation in our country.
As all of you know 38 years has registered in history since the we suffer and humiliated by two heartless dictators and their cadres, Mengistu for 17 years Meles for 21 years. They couldn’t have survived if some us being not deceived. The question is whether we proceed with the same dirty game or if we have learned from the past mistakes?????
We remember how The Mengitu regime cracked down and it shall be obvious the Woyane gangsters would have the same fate, but how and where shall vi proceed. Would it be repeated the same foolishness or have we learnt something that we can accept that we have committed a big blunder for the past 38 years???
I think the time is now for once and for all to think 100 times and listen to your own voice whether you think good or you are a destructive .
It looks that a bright sunshine is reflecting over the horizone of Ethiopia, a brightness of hope and salvation which has to be welcomed by the The Ethiopian People to end up their sufferings.
Something bright and green is on its way to The Ethiopian People, let us cherish and welcome it by standing together holding hand in hand.
God Bless ETHIOPIA and THE ETHIOPIANS

I truly and deeply believe this is a very critical moment to engage ourselves in a very serious and productive discussion if we are serious enough about bringing the change we desperately aspire. Yes, it is very important to thoroughly undrestand and appropriately interprete where we are now, including the possible death of Meles Zenawi, the terrible panic in the camp of the ruthless circle (TPLF/EPRDF)and the consequences to follow.
As it has been well stated by some genuinely concerned commentators , the most important factor in this very urgent and serious political arena is the role to be played by opposition forces who of course have legitimate stake in the process of rebuilding a country in which all her citizens can live with political freedm, justice , genuine fraternity/equality and shared prosperity.
To this very desirable end, there must be some kind of fundamental values and principles to be taken seriously . Although I know these values and principles are the ABC of establishing a democratic and prosperous society , it is absolutely necessary to remind ourselves repeatedly about them .Because these basic factors of a political arena are parts and parcels of our day-to-day lives. It is from this perspective that I want to have my say on their importance.
1) All opposition forces need to get out of the their small circles both in terms of state of mind (ideaology) and practices ( overshadowed by dysfunctionality). This, of course, requires a real sense of courage and honesty, not the other way round!
2) All genuinely concerned civic ,professional and community organizations should have their own role in the question of how to deal with the very serious and urgent political environment we are encountering. There is no way to accomplish a avery big and comlex national political mission with out an active participation of these parts of the society.
3) The young geneation ( students ,workers ,farmers ,etc.) has a very huge role to play because of having unique place in the history of political changes either for good or bad. And that is : a)the youth is the majority of energetic work force, and b) the future belongs to it. There is no way to be a group of avoidance of politics but at the same time aspiring a system of life in which we live with democratic freedom ,justice and human dignity!!
4) When it comes to the question of who is expected to take the driver seat in the process of the struggle for democttatic change , there is no doubt that it is the well-organized ,well-determined and effective political leadership – the opposition political groups . Leadership is not as the same as management we know. It is a question of coming up with smart and decisive role whenever a very big and serious wave of change becomes necessary. That is why it is quite rational and legitimate to put a lot of pressure on all political forces if the change we aspire should become a reality.
5) Is it not possible for those opposition forces to be effective with out forming some sort of geninue coalition or united front based on the commonly accepted and shared principles, values and objectives. Absolutely impossible; especially in the case of our political history and the current political environment. That is why the issue of coming together and setting up a a political body with a clear principle and mission is so urgent .
6) Yes, coming together and establishimg a united front cannot be taken for granted at all. The behavior of ego-centerism, the tendency of taking the larger credit for showing some dgree of success , the culture of blaming each other whenever there is failure instead of having honset dialogue and making correction, the mentality of “things do not work if I am not a big boss”, the culture of running away from the part we belong because of our unproductive personality and working against our old friends/clleagues , and so on and so forth should be defeated,if not minimized if we want to succeeed.
7) It must be born in mind that our fundamental objective is to change the existing ugly political system( pysdo-multi-party) to a genuine multi-party political field. If that is the case , we need to avoid the culture of exclusion using very clumsy and unproductive preconditions for those political parties who do not agree with our ideas in the process of the formation of a united front.
8) It is absolutely necessary to fous on what we have in common ,not differences which should be treated accordingly.
9) I strongly believe that we seriously need to think about genuine reconciliation not merely for the sake of excusing and apologizing each other ,but aslo opening dialogue how to come to an agreement on the question of sharing political power.
Any way, I sincerely believe in the saying,” If there is a will ,there is a way!”
All the best!!!

To Henok,
In reply to your question, the answer is a very simple. POWER. If they all speak the same language, and i totally agree with you they do, the division only rest in one place. Who takes power. This why we have to be careful what we wish for.
The primary objective for us in general is to install institutions that are accountable to the rule of law. We need to demand to have strong civil societies in our country. Let the people on the ground be able to demand what they want and what is right for them. We are tired of top down management. About time we strengthen the Grassroot! you will see what difference that would make. See Egypt.

All forces and opposition groups have to join hands and save the beleagured country from the rape, murder and looting of the woyane. there is nothing urgent than this. we have to set up the new transitional government in waiting to pave the way for a just and equal Ethiopia.
we have to cease the moment before the CIA and others form a government for us.

Dear Ethiopians:
There are events we can’t directly create or control. These are like the death of Meles or when he must die. But there are things we can create and control. These are our individual struggles and our united struggle. The latter MUST be our focus and laser concentration. Then, we will put the death of Meles and the division withing Woyane to good use. One thing is certain – the regime cannot rule in the old ways. The people have refused to be ruled in the old ways. There is a revolutionary situation developing. These are critical times, let’s fight AS One.

We have only a chance to survive and live in dignity, if and only if
we are able to avoid our EGO-centricness and self-centeredness. We see
exactly this in the structure of our oppositions. It is hard to figure out their ideological differences. They speak the same thing and have good vision for the future of our country but they are different, why ?
