Dear Jason Warick of the Starphoenix,
Many of Diaspora Ethiopian Websites published your piece on June 12about
the protest rally at University of Saskatchewan. Ethiopian Current Affair Discussion Room (ECADF) 24 hours open chat room with an average 100 to 150 participants every hour is the organizer of the rally with the help of its supporters and members in Canada with other activists. ECADF is the first website to post your article.
Quotero, Ayantu, Abugida, Ethiomedia, EMF and Debteraw posted your article and readers are posting their comments. I just sent you the link of one of the Websites to see what the responses like to your piece. Ethiopian Satellite Television (ESAT) covered on June 13 program about the protest based on your story. These all are based out of Ethiopia and all of them are blocked in Ethiopia using Chinese assistant with Western cash.
Sadly President Obama endorsed the Ethiopian tyrant as a person to business with by inviting him at G8 meeting in USA last month. Obama is no longer a friend of Ethiopians and we are not going to vote for him. Ethiopian Americans will stay home on the coming election. We know very well that in a country like Ethiopia where information is under total control of the government and where Internet coverage is less than one percent and no independent media the voice of the Diaspora is crucial.
Piece like you will be translated to local languages to be carried on opposition radio stations frequently jammed by the regime in Ethiopia. Even Voice of America Amharic Service is jammed frequently. Unfortunately the jammer is treated as an ally here in USA. Taliban/Osama Bin Laden was also once an ally of USA. Did I forget Pakistan ?
Syrians alone are fighting tyranny for more than a year now. We Ethiopians have proud history of fighting tyranny. We removed the benevolent King Haile Selassie by mass uprising in 1974 and in 2005 voted out the minority Tigrian fascist click by popular vote. Ethiopians dearly paid on their children lives six years ago when the world looked the other way. Since then we are ruled by western financed and armed fascist regime no different than Bashir Al Asad of Syria. Syria is a client of Russia while Ethiopia is now a client of USA/UK.
Thanks,

Thank you dear diaspora Ethiopians.
Dictators of Ethiopia should not welcome to the free and democratic world.
Dictators should be condemned where ever they go.
Dear Jason Warick of the Starphoenix, Thank you for reporting on the event.

Ato Tedla,
Did you say we(Ethiopians in US) will not vote for Obama? let me ask you this, Do you like the alternative?
from day one, i said Obama will always put American interest first because that is what he is expected to do. No matter how we get opperesed, tortured, or how many of us die, if it does not affect American interest, Obama will never aknowledge our problem. ONE THING WE SHOULD ALL COME TO UNDERSTAND IS THE SOLUTION TO OUR PROBLEM IS NOBODY BUT US. IF WE UNITE AND RAISE THEN OBAMA AND ALL THE OTHER WOYANE SUPPORTER WESTERN LEADERS WILL RALLY WITH US. WE HAVE SEEN IT IN EGYPT AND LYBIA.
i will vote for obama because the alternative scares me to death. Also do not believe the idea of a white man or western government to be a solution to our mother land problem. we defeated Italy and showed the world that we are people of determination and courage. so what is holding us today? why are being so passive to all injustice that is being done to us by woyane? where is that courage that gave us the title of the only country that was never colonized? instead of discouraging people to not go out and exercise their right to vote..instead incourage them to unite and spead up the process to bring change that our coutry need desparetly.
with respect.
mot lewoyane and jelewochu!
