Washington D.C. – The Holy Synod of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Exile has concluded its 33rd regular conference successfully. It has discussed several national issues in the three days meeting. At the end of the conference, the Holy Synod made a press release in which it condemned the killing of Muslim brothers and sisters in Ethiopia and called upon all Orthodox believers to join the fellow Muslims in their protest against the unlawful intervention of the TPLF/EPRDF regime in their religious norms. Here is a clip of the message.

It is is very encouraging, if not inspiring to hear strongly reafirming words of not only to keep our great tradtion or value of tolerance to each other but most imoprtantly a call for a much more cooperation between Christian and Muslem Ethiopians at this critical time!! Those religious fathers who took this wonderful initiative by appearing together in public protest in Canada and reafirming a real sense of togetherness desreve a very great appreciation!! Now, this great idea of reafirming our great religious and social values of UNINITY WITHIN DIAVERSITY has been taken to the legally highest religious body( THE HOLY SYNOD)and has inspired not only the followers of the two religions but also all genuine Ethiopians form all walks of life ( believers and non-believers). Now, it is up to us to take these words of reafirmation a step forward by making it practical ,and that is the way it should be if we are serious enogh about our common destiny or fate.
May God bless our genuine religious fahters of the two great religions!
May God bless our country and her innocent people!
May God help us in our struggle for justice and freedom!!
Have a wonderful time !!

We ,ethiopian’s orthodox tewahedo church followers are very pleased , happy and thanked our great holly fathers to take such a kind of decission to stand with our muslim ethiopia’s brothers and sisters and defend their basice human right [ freedom of religion]. We, ethiopians [ both muslims and chritians] regardless of our religion, language and tradition ,we are the children of one ancient, greate and historical nation that is Ethiopia. We should proud of being an Ethiopians. We are from one ethiopia’s womb. so we have to stand together for common causes, and support each others when ever one needs the other’s help’.So the devile weyanes have divided us among different ethnice lines and religions because they can not loott our common mother unless or otherwise we are divided. The bloody and shamless weyanes have been killing us , arresting, lootting, sending us exile, or selling for modern types of slavery for arabs, burning our churches in our muslim brothers and sisters name and burning mosques , in our names and selling our virigin farm lands for foreign land grabbers for the last 21 years. But now thanks to almighty GOD, we are heading towards unity, to defend our religion , our freedom and our country together. The mindless weyanes tried to divide us by religion , but GOD united us. No more division. We all ethiopians must push our religious leaders to work together, to bring all their followers together and stand together for our religions and country .When the foreign mecernary and terrorists group [ TPLF] decided to destroy one of the oldest and historical walideba monstry, I hoped the tegeray people would stand on the front line in defence of walideba, But opportunately the reaction of the people in tegeray seems that they agree as far as they get sugar in the replacement. so shame and ascham for GOD. BUT we EOTC followers thank to our muslim brothers and sisters who stood on the front line in cannada’s demonstration in defence of walideba. Unity is power. Let us be our country’s proud children and say no to all land grabbers and land sellers.

Now we are talking! This is it. This is the way to fight dictators-with total unity!. Afterall it is the matter of principles. So it is the issue of I am using example ” when they come for the Gambellas I did not do anything, when they come for the merchants I did not do anything, when they come for the oppostion I did not do any thing, when they come for the journalist, I did not do anything. When they come for the students, I did not do anything, when they laid of the workers I did not do anything, when they chuck out residents and villagers I did not do anything. when the burn the wild I did not do anything, when they burn the churches i did not do anything, when they come for the muslims I did not do any thing. When they come for me, not one was left. Enough is enough, we need to stand together because no one is immune from TPLF terror. It is just a matter of time.
